CPFC

The Carey Park Football Club began it’s existence in 1914 as the Young’s Men’s Social Club has a long and proud past. With football & rowing as it’s main recreations. Soon the name was changed to the Young Men’s Pastimes Club. The first football team formed by the Pastimes Club was a junior team, In 1920 the Club won it’s first Premiership and then in 1921 our name was changed to the Pastimes Football Club. Success came early, for in 1923, they were undefeated to become Premiers and Champions. They won again in 1924 and 1925 and were runners up in 1926. Further Premierships followed in 1932 and 1938. Still functioning as Pastimes, the Club won the Sunday Times Trophy for winning three consecutive Premierships in 1946, 1947 & 1948. In 1956 it was decided that the Club should center its activities on the growing suburb of Carey Park. In 1959, the name was changed to Carey Park Football Club and should be known as the Panthers. Since the name change to Carey Park the Club has won seven League Premierships in 1963, 1973, 1986, 2003, 2006, 2008 & 2009. We are now The Carey Park Football Sporting and Community Club incorporating Junior, Senior (Mens & Womens), and Masters; Australian Rules Football & Netball teams.

KELLY PARK LIGHTING UPGRADE

The Carey Park Football Sporting and Community Club (the club) is seeking grant funding from the general community to assist with the upgrade of its field lighting at the Kelly Park sporting oval. The upgrade will use the existing light pole infrastructure and require the replacement of the ageing and energy hungry Halogen globes with more powerful and energy efficient LED globes. Whilst we have secured government grant funding to cover 2/3 of the project, the Carey Park Football Sporting and Community Club must fund approximately $70,000 of the overall cost and we need the communities support. The new lighting will significantly improve the playing and spectating experience at Kelly Park and will allow the club to utilise the lights for more Senior and Junior games at a greatly reduced running cost. This upgrade will allow the club to “future proof” its sporting and community facilities which have been substantially upgraded over the past years.   Please click below to donate
